INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup toor dal
1/2 cup dosa rice
1 cup fresh grated coconut
1/2 cup chopped onion1/4 cup chopped cabbage
salt to taste
lil. tamarind
4-5 roasted red chillies(roast dry chillies in 1/2 tsp oil)
PROCEDURE:
- Soak rice and dal in water for 1 hour
- In mixer first grind coconut,salt,tamarind,red chillies to a fine paste
- Then add rice and dal without water and grind to a lil coarse paste
- Consistency should be lil thicker than idli batter
- Transfer it into a bowl and add chopped onion and cabbage
- Put the batter in idli mould or jackfruit leaves baskets and steam it for 20- 25 mins
- Serve hot with coconut oil
