Ashtami laddu/Kare undo


THESE DELICIOUS LADDUS ARE MOSTLY PREPARED BY  MANGALOREANS ON KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI DAY AS AN OFFERING TO LORD SRI KRISHNA..PREPARING THESE LADDUS ARE NOT AS EASY AS OTHER LADDUS..I TRIED THESE FOR THE FIRST TIMEAND CAME OUT WELL..SO SHARING IT WITH ALL OF YOU...

INGREDIENTS:
1cup layi pitto/ araLu pudi/puffed paddy rice pdr
4 tblsp chopped and dry roasted cashew nuts
3 tblsp dry roasted black sesame seeds
2 tsp cardamom pdr
1 cup chikki jaggery/antu bella

For mota sev/karo:
1 cup besan/bengal gram flour
Ghee/ oil for frying

PROCEDURE:

  • Mix gram flour/ besan with water andmake thick paste
  • Put in the sev mould and make sev ,deep fry till they are crisp
  • Once they are cooled crush them with your hands and make small pieces
  • In a bowl keep ready mixed puffed paddy rice powder,cardamom pdr,sev,cashewnuts and sesame seeds 
  • Heat a pan,put jaggery and 1 cup water and make it boil ,stirring continuously
  • To check the thread consistency put a drop of syrup in a small bowl of water it should form a ball 
  • Once you get this consistency remove from the flame and add all the ingredients and mix well
  • Grease your hands with ghee and make laddus and store in an air tight container when it comes to room temperature!!
