Buttermilk Idli


INGREDIENTS:
1 cup idli rava
1 cup poha/beaten rice/avalakki
1 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
2cups fresh curds
2 cups grated jaggary(approximately) or according to your taste
Pinch salt
Pinch cooking soda or Eno 
2 tblsp chopped cashews
2 tblsp raisins
pinch turmeric pdr or saffron colour(optional)
2tsp ghee 

PROCEDURE:
  • In a pan dry roast rava slightly only for 2-3 mins or you can micro it for 20 secs 
  • Wash the poha and grind with coconut,salt and jaggery in to a fine paste without water
  • If needed use curd while grinding
  • Wash the rava ,drain all the water and add thecurd and ground paste 
  • Add the chopped cashew,raisins,saffron colour and mix well
  • Keep covered for 4-5 hours
  • If the batter is too thick ,add some curd 
  • Greas the idli mould with ghee and fill it with thebatter
  • Steam in a idli steamer for 15 to 2o mins
  • Serve hot with fresh ghee or butter !!
