Cucumber Poha Idli
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups idli rava
1 cup thin poha/ beaten rice/ avalakki
1 cup sour curd/thick buttermilk
1 1/2 cups grated cucumber
1/2 tsp ENO or pinch cooking soda
Water as needed
Salt to taste
PROCEDURE:
- Wash ans soak poha in curds for 5 mins
- Since it is thin variety ,it will become mushy ,mash it nicely
- Add rice rava ,salt,cucumber grated ,mix well and keep covered for 10 mins
- Poha and rava will absorb the water content
- Add water if the batter is too thick ,and adjust the consistency like rava idli batter
- Your idli batter is ready to use, no fermentation is required
- Heat idli steamer,add ENO to the batter just before steaming
- Grease the idli moulds and fill them with the batter
- Steam for 12 to 15 mins
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar!!
