Butter beans Pulav



INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice 
1/4 cup butter beans
1 carrot chopped
1 onion sliced
2 lavang/cloves
1/2 inch cinnamon/dalchini
6 tsp ghee or oil
2 bay leaves
1 tsp biryani masala
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
1/4 cup curd
Salt to taste
chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

FOR THE MASALA PASTE:
In a pan take 2 tsp oil and fry 1 sliced onion,1/2 inch ginger,4 garlic cloves 3 green chillies,5-6 mint leaves,1/4 cup coriander leaves, till onion becomes light brown ,cool it and grind into a fine paste and keep aside

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash and soak rice in water for 30 mins and then drain it
  • In cooker take oil/ghee and  add lavang,dalchini,bay leaves and fry for a minute
  • Add sliced onions and fryntill transparent
  • Put the masala and fry for 5 mins,followed by biryani masala pdr,turmeric pdr and fry for 1 minute
  • Put the drained rice and fry for 5 minutes
  • Add carrot,butter beans ,salt curd  and mix well
  • Put 1 .5 cups water and close the lid
  • switch off the gas after 2 whistles
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with raita!!!
