Punjabi Mushroom Masala


INGREDIENTS:
10 button mushrooms
1/2 tsp +1 tsp red chilli pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
1 tsp coriander pdr
1 tsp Kitchen King masala or any garam masala
1 bay leaf
1 tsp cumin seeds
5 tsp oil
1/4 cup milk 
1 tsp kasuri methi
1/4cup chopped capsicum
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves

FOR ONION PASTE:
1 onion roughly chopped
4 garlic cloves
1/2 inch ginger
1 roughly chopped tomato
Make a fine paste of above ingredients and keep aside

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash the mushrooms and cut into 4 pieces
  • Marinate with little salt,1/2 tsp red chilli pdr and turmeric pdr and keep for 15 mins
  • In a pan heat oil,add cumin seeds,tejpata and fry
  • Put the onion tomato paste and fry till the raw smell dissapears
  • Add the capsicum cubes and cook for 5 mins
  • Add the spice powders and fry for a minute ,followed by marinated mushrooms and salt to taste
  • Cook with a lid covered ,once the mushrooms are done add the milk, kasuri methi and cook for another 5 mins
  • Garnish  with chopped coriander leaves 
  • Serve hot with rice or rotis!!
