Bendekayi palya

250 gms Bhindi/ lady's fingers/ Okra
1 finely chopped onion
5 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
1 tsp lime juice 

For the paste:
Grind 1/4 cup coriander leaves, 3 green chillies and 5 garlic cloves and keep aside


  • Wash , wipe the bhindis and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • Heat pan ,add mustard ,when it crackles ,put turmeric pdr ,and chopped onion
  • Saute for 5 mins,add the groun paste ,fry for 3 mins
  • Add the cut bhindi,salt and cover with a lid and cook till bhindis are cooked
  • Add lime juice and toss well
  • Serve with hot phulkas !!!
