Set dosa with veg. Sagu


tHIS WONDERFUL SET DOSA RECIPE BELONGS TO MY FB FRIEND AND BLOGGER KUDPIRAJ MAAM !! ONE OF THE BEST DOSA I TRIED EVER !!

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups raw rice
1 cup parboiled rice
1/2 cup urad dal
1/2 cup thick poha
1 tsp methi/ fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste1/2 tsp sugar(optional)
Oil for roasting dosa

PROCEDURE:

  • Soak 2 types of rice,urad dal and methi seeds in enough water for 6 hrs
  • Soak poha for 1 hour,grind poha with other soaked ingredients into a smooth batter 
  • Allow to ferment at warm temperature for 10-12 hrs
  • Mix salt and sugar to fermented batter
  • Heat tava ,sprinkle water and pour a laddle full of batter n spread little to make thick dosa
  • Turn the dosa upside down and roast a little adding 2 tsp oil
  • Serve hot with chutney or sagu!!

SAGU INGREDIENTS:
MIXED VEGGIES:
1 potato washed,peeled and cut into small cubes
1/2cup green peas
1 carrot cut into cubes
8-10 french beans cut into pieces
1 tomato chopped

FOR THE MASALA:
1 cup grated coconut
3 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tblsp roasted chickpeas/ hurigadale/putani
a handful cashew nuts
2 cloves
1 small piece cinnamon
3-4 green chillies
1/2 onion chopped
handful coriander leaves
small piece ginger
SEASONING INGREDIENTS:
1/2 t sp mustard
curry leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
2 tsp oil

PROCEDURE:
  • Parboil the veggies with 2 cups of water n salt to taste 
  • Grind the masala ingredients into a fine paste
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard,when it starts crackling,add curry leaves followed byturmeric pdr
  • Add the masala paste,and fry for few mins
  • Add the boiled veggies,along with cooked water and bring to boil, check for salt
  • Simmer for 2-3 mins till the masala blends well with veggies
  • Serve hot with dosa or rotis!!
