Stuffed masala idli


INGREDIENTS:
2 cups  fermented idli batter
FOR THE STUFFING:
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
1/4 cup green peas
1 boiled potato cut into small  cubes
3 tsp oil
1chopped onion
2 finely chopped garlic
1 tsp red chilli pdr
1/4 tsp turmeric pdr
1/2 tsp jeera/cumin pdr
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tblsp chopped coriander leaves

PROCEDURE:

  • In a pan heat oil ,add chopped garlic,jeera and fry till garlic becomes brown
  • Put the chopped onion and fry till they become transparent
  • Add carrot,green peas  and cook witha lid covered
  • Once it is cooked add all the spices, boiled potato cubes ,salt and mix well
  • Finally garnis hwith chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix
  • Your stuffing is ready!!
  • Heat a an idli steamer,grease the idli moulds
  • Put little idli batter and 2 tblsp stuffing over the batter
  • Again put some batter and cover the stuffing
  • Close the lid of the steamer and steam just like normal idlis
  • Serve hot with chutney or sambar !!!
