Stuffed masala idli
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups fermented idli batter
FOR THE STUFFING:
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
1/4 cup green peas
1 boiled potato cut into small cubes
3 tsp oil
1chopped onion
2 finely chopped garlic
1 tsp red chilli pdr
1/4 tsp turmeric pdr
1/2 tsp jeera/cumin pdr
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tblsp chopped coriander leaves
PROCEDURE:
- In a pan heat oil ,add chopped garlic,jeera and fry till garlic becomes brown
- Put the chopped onion and fry till they become transparent
- Add carrot,green peas and cook witha lid covered
- Once it is cooked add all the spices, boiled potato cubes ,salt and mix well
- Finally garnis hwith chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix
- Your stuffing is ready!!
- Heat a an idli steamer,grease the idli moulds
- Put little idli batter and 2 tblsp stuffing over the batter
- Again put some batter and cover the stuffing
- Close the lid of the steamer and steam just like normal idlis
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar !!!
