Menthya Tambli


INGREDIENTS:
to be fried in ghee or oil:
3/4 tsp methi / fenugreek seeds
1/4 tsp jeera/  cumin seeds
2 green chillies
1 tsp oil
1/4 cup grated coconut
2 sprigs of curry leaves

OTHER INGREDIENTS:
1/4 t
1/2 cup well beaten curd / yogurt
Salt to taste

FOR THE TEMPERING:
1 tblsp oil
1/4 tsp urad dal
1/4 tsp jeera
1/4 tsp mustard
1 broken red chilli
1 sprig of curry leaf

PROCEDURE:

  • Take a pan ,add oil and fry methi seeds,jeera,green chillies chopped 
  • Now add in curry leaves ,coconut and fry on a low flame only for 2 mins (take care that coconut should not change the colour)
  • Cool and transfer the fried ingredients in the mixer jar and grind into a fine paste
  • Add the beaten curd,salt to taste and water to adjust the consistency
  • Add the tempering and serve with rice
Note: As this is cold curry there is no need to heat it up
this has to be consumed on the same day as it doesnt have long shelf life
