DALITHOY is a typical Konkani style dal ,prepared with generous amount of hing/ asafoetida.
Very simple and easy to make dish .
1 cup toor dal /Arhar dal
2-3 green chillies slit
Generous amount of hing/ asafoetida
Salt to taste
FOR THE TEMPERING:
3 tsp oil or ghee
2 tsp mustard
3 broken red chillies
- Wash and soak dal in 2 cups water for 20 mins
- Put the dal,green chillies in cooker with water and cook it for 3-4 whistles or till it is cooked well
- Transfer the cooked dal n a vessel, hing add salt to taste,water if needed
- Make it boil for 5 mins,add the tempering with the ingredients mentioned
- Serve hot with rice.
