Hasselback Potato
INGREDIENTS:
2 potatoes
1tblsp butter
5 grated garlic cloves
1 tsp chilli powder or red chilli flakes
1/2 tsp pepper powder
3-4 tblsp grated mozarella cheese
1/2 tsp oregano
Salt to taste
PROCEDURE:
- In a bowl mix melted butter,salt,grated garlic,chilli poder,oregano and pepper pdr
- Grate the mozarell cheese
- Wash the potatoes. Place the potatoes into a large wooden or metal spoon.
- Using sharp knife make slices across the potato the short way about 1/8 to 1/4 inch apart making sure to cut down to the lip of the spoon, not all the way through the potato
- The slices should stay connected at the bottom and the spoon helps keep the deoth even
- Dip the potatoes in cold water , remove and place them cut side up in a greased baking tray
- Drizzle the potatoes with the mixture of butter and spices,put the grated cheese in between the slices
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees,bake the potatoes for about 30- 45 mins or until nicely browned
- Remove from the oven and garnish with grated cheese
- Serve immediately.
