Oats and Dates Bar
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup rolled oats
2 tblsp almonds chopped
2 tblsp cashew nuts chopped
2 tblsp watermelon seeds
1 tblsp raisins
1/2 cup cornflakes lightly crushed
5 dates
1 tsp ghee
3 tsp honey
1/4 cup powdered jaggery
1 tsp butter or oil
PROCEDURE:
- Dry roast oats and keep aside
- Heat ghee and roast the chopped almonds, cashews and watermelon seeds one by one
- In the same pan saute chopped seeds and raisins for a second
- Put the roasted nuts,raisins, dates,raisins and roasted oats in a bowl
- In a pan put jaggery and 3 tblsp water , when the jaggery is melted add the butter and turn off the flame
- Pour the jaggery syrup and honey in the bowl ,mix well with the nuts
- Put the mixture in a greased tray and spread it evenly
- Cut into bars once it comes to room temperature
- Store in an airtight container
